This was a complex short story to write. But necessary for my family.
Alzheimer's is a tricky subject for children to understand, and since the Pandemic, masks, sanitizer, getting sick is scary. If your family is suffering through this heartbreaking disease, Alzheimer's, our hearts go out to you all.
The short story, Grandpa Doesn't Remember Me Anymore focuses on children seeing their loved ones get sicker and sicker. They may question: Did Grandpa get sick from all the people he lives with, or Is Grandpa's sickness contagious? I hope this helps in explaining there is nothing to fear. Grandpa still loves you even on 'bad days.'
